§ 05 — The Atmosphere
Every fade is
a conversation.
We don't talk about politics in here. We do talk about the Sens — usually whether they should've traded the pick, usually loudly, usually wrong.
The room is small on purpose. Three chairs above Equator Coffee, one flight up, blue door on Rideau between the espresso bar and the dep. You'll hear us before you find us.
Our regulars are uOttawa profs, Hill staffers, ByWard Market vendors, the guy who runs the corner store, and three generations of one Glebe family who've been coming since week one.
Walk in like you own the place. Most of our regulars do.

§ 08 — The Neighbourhood
Why Sandy Hill?
Because the rent on Wellington was insane and because Sandy Hill is the most honest corner of Ottawa. uOttawa kids on one side, Parliament staffers on the other, ByWard Market vendors loading vans at 6am, the bus terminal grumbling across the street.
We landed at 142 Rideau in 2018 because the door was blue and the rent was reasonable and Equator Coffee downstairs would deliver an Americano up the back stairs. Eight years later they still do.
You don't open a barbershop here for the foot traffic. You open one because this is where the city actually gets its hair cut.
§ 09 — On the Speakers
What's on
while you wait.
- TueJazz — Coltrane, Mingus, the usual.
- Wed90s hip-hop, loud.
- ThuFrank Ocean on rotation.
- FriWhatever Marcus is feeling.
- SatWhatever Devon picks. He picks well.
- SunSoul. Curtis Mayfield. Slow morning.
§ 10 — Gift Cards
A cut, on you.
Fade Room gift cards from $50. Text-delivered, never expire, redeemable on any cut, shave, or product. The easiest gift you'll give your father this year.
§ 11 — Questions, Mostly Asked
Before you
come in.
Yes — after 4pm we almost always have a chair. Mornings are usually booked. If you're in the Market and want to risk it, just come by.
